Key Design Elements:

  1. Reflective Accents: Most pieces feature reflective seams or piping—especially on black fabrics—indicating a functional, techwear infl
  2. uence (useful for visibility and making a statement in both daylight and dark environments).

  3. Minimal Branding: The logo "Matrix Breaker" is small, clean, and placed thoughtfully—showing confidence in the design without needing loud graphics.

  4. Sculptural Forms: The hoodies in particular have exaggerated, balloon-like silhouettes, indicating an artistic or avant-garde edge to the collection.

  5. Color Palette: Mostly monochrome—black, white, cream—with a hint of soft pastels. This keeps the attention on form, material, and texture rather than bold color blocking.

  6. Technical & Sporty Silhouettes: The fitted bodysuits, tanks, and tees blend performancewear and fashion, suggesting the brand leans into both functionality and form.

Understanding the Consumer

  • 2XU starts by listening to athletes and fitness enthusiasts to understand what they really need—comfort, support, and freedom of movement.

  • They also stay on top of trends in sportswear, always looking for new fabrics and innovations that will push the boundaries of performance.

2. Collaboration and Design

Summer Jersey 2023

Project: Google Camp 2023-2024 is an event typically hosted by Google, often aimed at young people, such as kids and teens, as a way to promote creativity, learning, and exploration. It’s not just about tech or coding, but also about fostering an environment where kids can develop new skills, work together in teams, and explore their interests in a hands-on, engaging way. The camp likely focuses on making learning fun, interactive, and inspiring, often with a strong emphasis on using technology to solve problems, create projects, and enhance personal development.

Role: Research & Inspiration: Begin by understanding the brand and target audience (Google Camp for 6-10-year-olds). Gather inspiration from Google’s brand identity, their youthful and fun tone, and the event's purpose.

  • Sketching: Create initial sketches and explore different design ideas. These may involve graphic elements, typography (like the Google Camp logo), and color palettes that resonate with the audience.

  • Graphic Design: Using design software (like Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop), you can finalize the graphics for the t-shirt. Ensure the design fits the size of the t-shirt print area and is legible and visually appealing.
  • Prototype Development:

    Mock-up:
Create a digital mock-up of how the design will look on the shirt, showing the placement of the graphics and the overall aesthetic.

Sample Production: Work with a manufacturer to produce a prototype based on the design and fabric selection. The sample will help you test the fit, fabric, and overall design.

Printing/Production: Choosing puff imprint for the front center chest of the design Puff imprint creates a raised, 3D texture, which adds a fun and unique sensory experienceto the t-shirt. This makes it stand out visually and feels interesting to touch, which can
  • resonate well with kids.
